Its my few days off and although I should be enjoying it, I have no internet at home. I am suffering withdrawl!

This would be the perfect time to catch up on some posting. Have collected a few photos for a look around my neighbourhood - some other stuff I have been planning on putting together when I have time - now I do and can't do anything about it!

Error is...
There is a IP conflict with another system on your network.

This seems strange as the address is the one that is automatically assigned to me and when I refresh or repair it gives me the same one. I have even changed it manually and the same problem. I'm not techie enough to know how to fix this - its driving me nuts though, it just suddenly happened - no internet since thursday!

The problem is, in theory, not with your machine but with some other machine on the network. Are you using a wireless network?

Even setting the IP address manually, you're still getting this error?

You could try the incantation at a command prompt
"ipconfig /release"
"ipconfig /renew"

There's a chance that'll make things worse.. ipconfig /release followed by a reboot maybe..

Yup - wireless. The 3 boys are not having any trouble. Should get them to sort it out. One of them is studying computers at Unitec - on site practicum!

All fixed - very embarassing in the end. Somehow my fire wall got turned on. Not sure how, as I didn't do it. Not sure that actually was the problem as it took alot of playing around. And I am still getting the error message occasionally. It took more than just turning it off.
I had Hetz completely baffled at one point (I enjoyed that)
So finally have internet again (just in time to go back to work after having been off for 5 day without internet!
