Beauty and the Beast

m2149801Just watched Beauty and the Beast and it raises a couple of questions for me
I don't remember that much singing - did I blank it or has it always been there?
Why does the beast not have to say 'I love you' but the spell is broken when Bell says it. Is that the loving the beast thing - or is it closer to real life - he learns to love, she expresses that love.
Why am I reading things into a cartoon??
Why is there no Mr Potts? But there is the son, Chip? Is this a PC thing - single motherhood? Not even going into the age thing.
Where did all the dresses come from? Handy drapes?
