Been a bit of a busy week. Was given notice on Wed, found a place by Friday, moved on Tuesday, with alot of packing in between. Was back at old place on Thursday to clean and give back key. All over in just over a week.
Was a quick event, 2 and 1/2 hours. All my boxes, furniture and plants (I have a few....) Huge thanks to my brother. Could not have done it without him.
Bed set up most cupboards back together and some boxes unpacked in same evening. Computer together the next day on a tempory desk (spare boxes I don't have room to unpack until I get some more shelves. Plenty of room for them)
It a nice place. Huge room on the bottom floor of a three story town house type place. Own bathroom (when I see the state of the kitchen I am very pleased about this) and my own courtyard. The weeds were waist height when I moved but Dad and a friend John got stuck in while I was unpacking and setting up with Mum and Genie and have done an amazing job. Now is sprayed and starting to look even better. It opens the place up and I spend all my time here with both doors wide open making it nice and big. Have started enjoying pottering in my garden with my pots again. Very soothing. There is a huge rose climbing all over the fence. John gave it a prune and it looks very pretty (gave me a little spray, is in a cup on my bed sit table - the scent is gorgeous.)
The trains are nearby, is interesting learning the timetable. I wake with the 6am one and as long as I leave by the time the 615 one comes past it is all good. A later one has woken me a couple of times when I slept in. A short walk to the mall, library and all sorts of other things in the area. Easy walk for a late night icecream.(We tried that the other night - yum!)
Photos coming when I figure out what box the cable is in.
Have enjoyed cleaning. They cleaned the bathroom but I came over before I moved and cleaned it a bit more (took about an hour). The kitchen is a project I am tackling slowly, don't like to do it when the other flatties are around. Cleaning is a funny thing. Satisfying when it is done, but sometimes to be dreaded.
But as you can imagine, I'm a little tired. BIS training for the last couple of weeks and busy preChristmas stuff is starting to wear me out. Especially with all the packing, unpacking, and now getting used to a new place. Been sleeping quite a bit. Most afternoons are needing a nap, and lots of early nights. What a NANA!!
Looking forward to all the things that are coming up, the Christmas parade on Saturday and Worship INC on Sunday. Next week is our staff lunch - always nice to spend time together. A friend who last year, out of the blue texted, asking if I would like to pickle eggs, this year has found another mad pre christmas project for us. Coloured salt and sugar balls. mmmmmm could be interesting. Always interesting spending time together if nothing else. Last year we watched Miss Potter. Looking for a suitable movie for this year.
Oopppsss this got a bit longer than expected. Must remember to post more often.
